Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
1. Overview
Star Battle Free (“the App”) is operated by O’Mara Technology & Design (“we”, “us”, “our”). This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and your rights over it. It applies to the App however you obtained it, including from the Apple App Store and Google Play.
2. Data We Collect
On First Launch (All Users)
When you open the App for the first time, we automatically create an anonymous session tied to a randomly generated identifier (UUID). No name, email, or device identifier is associated with this record. This session is used to sync your puzzle progress and streaks across app restarts.
Data synced for anonymous sessions:
- Puzzle completion status and progress
- Time spent on each puzzle
- Streak counts (daily, weekly, monthly)
If You Create an Account
If you choose to create an account, we additionally collect:
- Email address and password, or
- A token from Apple or Google confirming your identity (we do not receive your Apple or Google password)
If You Make a Purchase
In-app purchases are processed by the app store you downloaded the App from — Apple (via the App Store) or Google (via Google Play). We use Adapty (adapty.io) to verify purchase receipts and manage entitlements across both platforms. We receive a confirmation of your purchase (product ID and entitlement status) but do not receive your payment card details.
Performance and Diagnostics
In published (App Store and Google Play) versions of the App, we collect a small set of first-party performance and engagement events to measure and improve speed, reliability, and gameplay. This data is sent only to our own servers; it is not collected in development builds and is not shared with advertising or analytics networks.
The events we record are: app start, puzzle opened, puzzle completed, hint loaded, app errors, and performance stalls. Each event is stored with:
- A timestamp and a session identifier (regenerated each time you open the App)
- Your anonymous user identifier (the same UUID described above)
- The app version and platform (iOS or Android)
- Timing and related values — for example, how long a puzzle took to load or solve, and how many hints were used
These events are tied to your anonymous identifier so we can group them by session and app version. They are not associated with your name or email, and we do not use them to build an advertising profile or to track you across other apps or websites.
3. How We Use Your Data
